All About Trail 2 Truth 2021
On Saturday October 9th, 2021, youth from around Province III will gather regionally with their diocese for our 2nd annual Trail to Truth Pilgrimage. Some dioceses may choose to do a day event while others may host an overnight depending on regional coronavirus restrictions. There will be an optional curriculum extension to October 10th for groups planning an overnight. The events will take place at a location chosen by the diocesan leader with common liturgy and additional optional components provided by the Province.
Trail 2 Truth will focus on racial and social inequity, and participants will discuss the history of racial injustice in America, cultural identity, inclusion, unconscious bias, and more. The mission of the 2021 Pilgrimage is "to encourage a deeper understanding of Christ’s call to justice, examining our own unconscious biases and listening for God’s direction within us to respect the dignity of every human being through the work of racial reconciliation."
The event is geared towards 9th-12th grade students, though dioceses may choose to extend the participation to middle school age students with appropriate curriculum revisions.
