Two New Bishops in Province III

The Rev. Carrie Schofield-Broadbent has been elected Bishop Co-Adjutor of the Diocese of Maryland, and the Rev. Ann Ritonia has been elected Bishop Suffragan of the Armed Forces and Federal Ministries.

Schofield-Broadbent most recently served as canon to the ordinary for transition and church development in the Diocese of Central New York. She will be consecrated and installed as bishop coadjutor on September 16th at Washington National Cathedral.

A retired Marine Corps major, Ritonia most recently served as the rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church and Parish Day School in the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland. Her consecration as bishop, pending the consents of a majority of the Church’s diocesan standing committees, is scheduled for September 30 at St. John’s Church, Lafayette Square, located across from the White House in Washington, DC.
